With Screentests, I hope to combine my interest in photographic portraiture, Freudian psychoanalysis, Hollywood and Warhol screen tests and narrative filmmaking. I’m interested in exploring the disconnection between memory, personal identity and image, both in the film and in life. By allowing these people to share their stories in their own voices, I hope to create a space for the viewer to reflect on their own projections of who these people are, versus who they are in the creation of their own identity, and how the world around us shapes these notions.
